Chris Cunningham

In my years of diving into the bowels of the net I have discovered many fantastic, awe-inspiring things. On the flipside, I've discovered a lot of things that would feast on your soul or end up blaming God for the atrocities that have been burned into your memory.

Which is a perfect segue to a music video director that evokes such awe-inspiring soul-feasting. That's a very fine line to walk. To literally make me cry at what I've seen or to violently reject everything I believed to be real and quite possibly both. lol

While looking up a rock band called The Horrors on youtube, I noticed that one of their videos was directed by the man this post is titled after. Chris Cunningham.

(The Horrors - Sheena is a Parasite)

Cool video. The band is ok. Kinda got a 60's-organ-rock-from-Britain vibe. I bet if I gave them a few more listens I would end up liking them. But that is not why we're here. The music is only secondary to the special effects. Oh so creepy effects.

Chris Cunningham is well known in England for directing music videos. Known for collaborating with Aphex Twin. If ya don't know who Aphex Twin is, he (Richard D. James, yup only 1 guy in this band) is considered a genuis in the electronic music world. Sort of like what Trent Reznor was to industrial music in the 90's. Well, at least I think that. lol

(Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy)

Seems like everything that Chris Cunningham directs turns out to be totally awsome.

(Aphex Twin - Monkey Drummer)

(Bjork - All is Full of Love)

Now we go from something beautiful like robot chicks making out to a big mindfuck that is called....

Rubber Johnny

You see? An awe-inspiring soul-feast.

Hey, this is Gex. That stuff by the Horrors sounded pretty neat. They have a huge late 70's to mid 80's European (obviously) punk influence. I used to listen to that a whole bunch. And its good to see Ahpex, an incredible addition the the world of electronic music. As for what the blog was about, though, that Chris Cunningham does, indeed, make some pwn videos.
